Deceiving Update - DO NOT Download

I was an avid user & fan of this app up until I downloaded the latest update (March 3016)which cited only bug fixes. Now they want to charge an annual fee of have to put-up w/ ads?
Poor taste on behalf of the developer for those of us who had already purchased the app now wanting a subscription fee as well.
